Last weekend I visited Sunborn London, Yacht Hotel based in London’s Docklands. The Sunborn London delivers a unique hotel experience with fine dining and superb views.
The hotel has a Titanic decor feel with impressive sized rooms, elegant designs, bespoke furnishings and a romantic restaurant. I stayed in their King Executive room with a river view which was spacious, comfy and provided a beautiful view.
There is also a day spa which offers a great range of treatments. Perfect touch for guests can unwind during their stay. Sunborn London’s rooms lead on to a private terrace or balcony which provide fantastic views of Canary Wharf and The London O2 Arena.
The hotel is located next to the world famous ExCel Exhibition Centre, Custom House DLR station and Emirates Air-line, making it an ideal base to plan a day out.
In comparison to most hotels, Sunborn London have great minibar prices. However, if you’re looking for something a little more fancy, guest can access room service with the tablet provided in each room.
The en suite bathroom is surprisingly spacious compared to what I had in mind. It is kitted out with travel sized Molton Brown products along with shower caps and a hairdryer. The bathroom is beautifully designed with marble a large marble sink, aztex tiled walls and a generous vanity area.
We booked a reservation for dinner at the hotel’s restaurant for 7pm.
The food was beautifully presented and tasted divine. We started with the soup of the day which was courgettes and the pan fried scallops and crayfish. Both of which were delicious.
Service was excellent and staff were more than happy to offer their recommendations on food and drinks.
As the evening went on my partner ordered the beef fillet on a bed of mash potato while I chose the cod fillet with gnocchi. Again, the presentation was lovely and the food tasted even better. Both meals were bursting with flavours and the chef’s didn’t shy away on portion sizes.
The drinks flowed and the candles swayed, and then at before we knew it 10pm has struck, it was probably time to head back to our room. The restaurant was so relaxing and comfortable that we stayed there all night without even realising, we didn’t feel rushed. The restaurant was full, so people must really love it.
Breakfast was served from 7-11am which allowed us to have a nice lay-in. The restaurant which we dined in the following night has transformed into their breakfast buffet which had a great range of food. From a full English breakfast to pastries, fruit and cereal.
I would highly recommend The Sunborn London Yacht Hotel and hope to visit again soon. The Sunborn also have a Yacht Hotel in Gibraltar and are currently expanding to Mexico and Barcelona!
