Uncover App

You should all know by now that I’m a foodie. I love discovering new restaurants/bars that not only serve up a delicious meal, but also have a great atmosphere.

One thing that I struggle with (and I feel that I can speak for everyone else too), is trying to get a last minute table at some of the best restaurants in London. Early last week I discovered an app called “Uncover”, an app which allows you to book last minute tables at restaurants all across London.Screen Shot 2015-03-04 at 00.11.01Screen Shot 2015-03-03 at 23.55.41The app shows you the availability for lunch or dinner from their list of 150 restaurants. It’s easy to navigate around and allows you to filter restaurants depending on location and what you’re looking for.

Uncover makes it easy for you to find a restaurant to suit your needs/wants, with their clear categories; Neighborhoods, Hustle & Bustle, New To Uncover, Hidden Gems, Romantic, Michelin Starred, Hot Spots, Great Grapes, Good For Business, We’ve Just Been and Won’t Break The Bank.

I recently used the Uncover app to book a reservation at a restaurant that I’ve been meaning to visit for months but was unable to bag myself a table. What restaurant is that you’re wondering? The Hutong in The Shard.

The process of booking a table was quick, simple and hassle free.

The Uncover app is completely free in the App Store and is available to download by clicking here.

Rosewood London, The Mirror Room

You may remember my post regarding Rosewood London, Slow Food & Living Market event a few days ago. Well, shortly after roaming the market stalls and discovering incredible organic food, we headed to The Rosewood London’s restaurant, The Mirror Room for a slow brunch.

The restaurant is beautifully designed and has a great mix of classic meets modern. The unique mirrored ceiling design and large mirrors that fill the walls create the perfect amount of light combined with the restaurants laid back dimmed lighting.

Sunday brunch in the Mirror Room included freshly sourced ingredients from the Slow Food & Living Market. (Lovely gesture.) We started with a selection of freshly baked break, homemade chocolate croissants and a delicious selection of cheeses.

The main course was a Sunday dinner, cooked to perfection!

The chicken was sufficient, flavoursome with a slight crisp to the skin, while the vegetables had the right amount of crunch. The chicken was bursting with a delectable lemon and honey drizzle and well seasoned.

The drinks flowed and the candles swayed, and before we knew it 3 hours had passed.

After completing our mains a lovely selection of desserts were presented to our table. The desserts included an apple and cinnamon cake, lemon meringue on a small bed of soft sponge cake, fruit salad and rhubarb panna cotta. (and yes, they tasted better than they sound!)

The atmosphere of The Mirror Room is therapeutic, relaxing and comfortable that we stayed there for hours without even realising, we didn’t feel rushed at all. Rosewood London really do spoil you when it comes to exquisite service and the most tantalizing food.

I’d say Rosewood London is like The Great Gatsby book, elegant, ambiguous, exciting and opulent. I wonder if Gatsby has every tasted anything this good though. It’s addictive and you just want to go back for more. Like I’ve mentioned though, the best thing about this restaurant is that it is so comfortable, it’s odd to find a restaurant which is so high end yet the staff are still so down to earth and friendly. There is nothing ‘snooty’ about Rosewood London, just highly professional and they have a genuine passion for customer service and food.

I would highly recommend and cannot wait to visit again soon.

Until next time
